Sora

<b>Personality:</b>

Sora is someone who carries on his shoulders a distinct hatred for the normal world. For him, the real world is simply to big, to random, and to lacking in rules to be a place he would like to live. Because of these factors, he has spent most of his life hidden away in his room, where he plays games all day with his little sister, Shiro.

As Sora sees it, in the world of a game there are concrete rules that everyone must follow, and it is within these rules he can flourish. We see this best in the fact that Sora's gaming prowess has helped him to become one half of the gaming group known as Blank, which some believe to be an urban legend due to the fact that they have never lost at any game they've played.

It is also notable that video games are so important to Sora that he actually carries tech with him wherever he goes in order to avoid withdraw. The items he typically carries on him at any given time include several portable gaming devices, cell phones, and tablet computers.

Whereas Sora is a shut-in in the real world, when he arrives in the world of Disboard he almost instantly finds himself at home. Because Disboard is a place where everything is decided by games, Sora is able to actually go out into the world and function like a normal person for the first time in his life. We see this almost instantly see an example upon his arrival in Disboard, as he is able use his gaming skills to win some local currency in a game of poker, then haggle with an inn keeper for a better price for a room

Sora is the analytic part of Blank and is notable for his wide breadth of knowledge and ability to read people. While Sora is naturally intelligent, most of what he knows comes from E-Books he read in preparation for quiz-based video games. He is able to apply this knowledge in real life to, however, and is able to successfully use knowledge from a game to plot out the agricultural future of the kingdom of Elkia.

He is also quite good at reading people, and is able to use their body language against them during games. This is seen numerous times throughout the series, but is typically brought up when Sora is able to devise his opponent's next move or figure out if they are cheating or not. The biggest example of this came during a chess match in which Sora found that his foe was using Elf magic to influence the game, then changed his tactics to counter it.

As smart and capable as Sora is however, he is still a shut-in otaku and has issues being around other people. Due to his social phobias Sora does not make friends easily, and often says that his sister is all he really needs in life in terms of companionship. But like much else that changes upon his arrival in Disboard, Sora also begins making friends with people such as Stephanie Dola, and the angelic Jibril, both of whom he befriended after playing games with them.

Sora is also rather bad with woman. An example of this can be seen that when he commanded Stephanie to fall in love with him after winning a game, he almost instantly freaks out and begins quivering in the corner while repeating over and over that he had made a mistake.

As a shut-in, Sora is also almost entirely dependent on his little sister, who he loves more then anything else in the world, to be an anchor to keep his life in order. Without her, he tends to become a quivering mess. When they are reunited, however, these effects quickly dissipate and Sora soon returns to being his typical self.

Despite being a shut-in, Sora is actually very goal driven. This stems from the fact that video games typically have a very direct path that you have to follow from beginning to end, and Sora applies this principal to his life as well. To this end, he keeps a list of everything he wants to achieve in life on his cell phone, which began with “become king of Elkia” and is updated as he moves forward in life.

In all, Sora is an intelligent and talented young man who is held back by his own social issues and inability to fit into the normal world. However, in his element, he becomes almost unstoppable as long as games are involved somehow.
